An attempt to smuggle drugs worth billions of rupees by sea failed

 

   128 kg of ice crystals and 2500 kg of hashish were      recovered. 

Pakistan Maritime Security Agency and Customs officials have foiled smuggling worth billions of rupees in a joint operation in the open sea.




Deputy DG Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (MSA) Commodore Aamir Iqbal and Additional Collector of Customs Ali Raza held a joint press conference in Karachi.




Spokesperson PMSA said that Maritime Security Agency and Customs officials have foiled smuggling worth billions of rupees by conducting a joint operation in the open sea.




Smugglers threw the drugs into the sea to destroy the evidence. PMSA, after tireless efforts, recovered the drugs from the water. 128 kg of ice crystals and 2500 kg of hashish were recovered from the drugs thrown into the sea.




Spokesperson PMSA further informed us that 19 smugglers on 3 boats have been detained. The smugglers and narcotics have been handed over to the Collectorate of Customs Enforcement Karachi for further investigation and legal action.




This is the seventh joint anti-narcotics operation between the two agencies in the last one month, in which drugs worth about 13 billion, 39 smugglers and 6 boats have been detained, while one boat was set on fire by the smugglers and sent to sea.
